NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that James P. Merzke, Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Mendon, has received the 2010 Collector’s Tax Warrant for the Town of Mendon. Taxes will be received at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472-1199, from 8:30AM-4:30PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that taxes may be paid on or before February 10th without charge or interest. On payments received after such date, there shall be added interest of 1.5% if paid on or before February 28th and an additional 1.5% for each additional month or fraction thereof thereafter until such taxes are paid or until the return of unpaid taxes to the county treasurer pursuant to law.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that pursuant to the provisions of law, the tax roll of the Town of Mendon will be returned to the County Treasurer of the County of Monroe on the 1st day of June 2010.

NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM, AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MENDON PUBLIC LIBRARY INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, AN ADDITION THERETO, AND THE ISSUANCE OF SERIAL BONDS OF THE TOWN OF MENDON, MONROE COUNTY, NEW YORK IN AN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,350,000 PURSUANT TO THE LOCAL FINANCE LAW TO FINANCE SAID PURPOSE AND DELEGATING THE POWER TO ISSUE BOND ANTICIPATION NOTES IN ANTICIPATION OF THE SALE OF SUCH BONDS TO THE TOWN SUPERVISOR.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Mendon, Monroe County, New York, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 28th day of December, 2009, duly adopted a resolution subject to a permissive referendum, the purpose and effect of which is to authorize the issuance and sale of serial bonds in the amount of One Million Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($1,350,000.00) for the construction of an addition and the reconstruction of the Mendon Public Library, including site work, the acquisition of original furnishings, equipment, machinery or apparatus required for the purposes for which such addition and reconstructed building are to be used. The estimated cost of the project is not to exceed $3,954,303. The Town plans to finance the total cost of the project by the issuance of the Bonds and the expenditure of not to exceed $2,604,303 of funds and gifts and grants received by the Town for the purpose of financing the project as such funds and gifts and grants become available.

Qualified electors of the Town have 30 days after the adoption of the resolution to petition that the resolution be submitted to vote. If no petition is filed, the resolution of the Town Board becomes effective 30 days after its adoption and no election is required.
Any such petition to be valid must be subscribed and acknowledged by qualified Town electors numbering at least 5% of the total vote cast for governor in the Town at the last general election of state officers, and filed with the Town Clerk. If a valid petition is filed more than 75 days before an biennial Town election, a proposition must be submitted to the voters at a special Town election to be held not less than 60 nor more than 75days after filing of the petition.
